Order of Operations for Team #3

1. Go to the Albion College Archives. Ask the librarian there, Jennifer Thomas, how you could find out the names of Native Americans who attended Albion College in the first years of its existence. Assemble a list of names of these early students. Ask Jenny how to find out biographical information about these students.

2. Call or e-mail Jerry Chivis to ask if he knows what kind of information about these individuals might exist in baptismal and marriage records on the Athens Potawatomi reservation. Explain the goal of your research, and ask him who could give you permission to use these records. If Jerry doesn't know, try Kathy Stinger, the Chair of the Athens Potawatomi Cultural Committee. Or, contact Phyllis Crandall, Operations Manager of the Athens Potawatomi reservation, and ask her whom you should contact about access to reservation archives.

3. Write mini-biographies of these early Albion College students. Provide pictures if you can.
