Management I: Armed Conflict
Threats to the archaeological heritage do not recognize national borders;
preservation of that heritage is therefore amenable to international
solutions. We explore how agreements are made among nations to protect
the past. We then turn to the problem of protecting sites, monuments,
and artifacts during times of armed conflict, from antiquity to Afghanistan.
