Language Materials Development
At present CeLCAR's major activity is developing Language Teaching Materials. CeLCAR will soon publish materials in Introductory Pashto, Tajik, Uzbek and Uyghur. In addition, CeLCAR offers distance learning courses in Kazak and Uzbek. CeLCAR also intends to produce materials for intermediate and advanced learners in Pashto, Tajik, Uyghur, and Uzbek and beginners' materials for other languages. For each of the languages, CeLCAR will produce an integrated set of:

  • Student textbooks
  • CD-ROM based instructional materials
  • Supplementary teaching and learning materials

The language materials produced at CeLCAR are unique not only because they are ground-breaking and some of the first of their kind, but also because they incorporate authentic language materials, such as newspapers, videos, and television broadcasts, most of which have been collected or recorded in the Central Asia region.
