Professor John Bodnar Honored With 2002 Distinguished Faculty Award

The 2002 College of Arts & Sciences Alumni Association Distinguished Faculty Award was presented to John E. Bodnar by Dean Kumble R. Subbaswamy at the Annual Recognition Banquet on Friday, October 25, 2002.

John E. Bodnar, Ph.D.

Professor Bodnar is Chair and Chancellor's Professor of History and Director of the Center for the Study of History and Memory. He received his B.A. and M.A. from John Carroll University and his Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut. He came to IU in 1981. He has made significant contributions in four distinct fields of immigration history, working-class history, the history of memory and film history. He has received many awards for excellence in teaching and was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for his book, Remaking America.
