Professor Lisa M. Pratt Honored With 2003 Distinguished Faculty Award

The 2003 College of Arts & Sciences Alumni Association Distinguished Faculty Award was presented to Lisa M. Pratt by Dean Kumble R. Subbaswamy at the Annual Recognition Banquet on Friday, October 17, 2003.

Dr. Pratt received her Ph.D. from Princeton University. She joined the faculty of IU in 1986 and is a professor in the Department of Geological Sciences. Dr. Pratt has a national reputation in both teaching and research in the geosciences. She received the 2002 Outstanding Educator Award from the Eastern Section of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, will direct the new NASA Astrobiology Institute at IU, and served as chair of the committee for both phases of the new Multidisciplinary Science Building, the first phase of which will begin construction in 2004.
