Science Education Foundation of
Indiana (SEFI)
(includes links to all Indiana science fair sites)
SEFI sponsors the Indiana Science Fairs held throughout the state.
Students present their individual research in Science Fair competitions at
the regional, state, and international levels. Full-tuition scholarships
are awarded by a number of colleges and universities at the International
Fair held each May.
Siemens Westinghouse Competition
The Siemens Westinghouse Competition in Math, Science & Technology continues the 50-year Westinghouse tradition of supporting
math and science education in America. In the fall of each year, high school seniors are invited to submit independent research
projects in the fields of science, math, engineering and technology. Students may enter as individuals or as part of a team.
Intel International Science and
Engineering Fair
"The Olympics, the World Cup, and the World Series of science
competitions"
Junior Science and Humanities Symposium
First-place finalist receives a $4,000 undergraduate scholarship and an
invitation to present his or her research at the National Symposium
Indiana Science
Olympiad
(includes links to all regional, state, and national competitions)
Science Olympiad is a great tool that teachers can use to involve students
in hand-on science activities.
Lego Robotics Tournament
Students have eight weeks to build, program, and test autonomous robots
capable of completing various ‘missions.’
Young Inventors
Awards Program
Two national winners (one from grades 2-5 and one from grades 6-8) each
receive a $10,000 United States Series EE Savings Bond.
Indiana Student Software
Awards Competition
Students can enter their software projects as individuals or teams.
Indiana Academic Competitions for
Excellence
Spell Bowl, Super Bowl, Decathlon, and M.A.T.H.
This site describes interscholastic competitions for senior high, junior
high/middle, and elementary school students.
Indiana State Mathematics Contest
(ICTM)
Students can take mathematics exams ranging from pre-algebra to a
comprehensive exam.
Math Counts
This is a coaching and competition program for middle school students
nationwide that offers "a chance to explore cool mathematics that isn't
always taught"in the classroom.
The Official Site for Math League
Contests
Math League Contests build "student interest and confidence in mathematics
through solving worthwhile problems."
Odyssey of the Mind
The Odyssey of the Mind School Program "fosters creative thinking and
problem-solving skills among participating students from kindergarten
through college."

National Council of Teachers of Mathematics
The council "provides guidelines for excellence in mathematics education
and issues a call for all students to engage in more challenging
mathematics."
Indiana Academic
Standards
View the standards set by the Indiana Department of Education. Resources
are divided into three groups: Curriculum Frameworks, Classroom
Assessments, and End of Course Assessments to help students meet the
expectations set by Indiana’s Academic Standards.
Inquiry Learning Forum
