Ashley Martin is a member of the Indiana University Class of 2009. Ashley is studying Political Science and International Studies, with a minor in Spanish. Currently, she serves as a member of the Court's External Affairs Committee and is a student representative to the Bloomington Faculty Council's External Affairs Committee. Ashley is a member of the Theta Beta Chapter of Chi Omega Women's Fraternity, through which she participates in philanthropy events to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation. During her freshman year she was Chair of the McNutt Residence Hall Judicial Board.
Originally from Fishers, Ashley has participated in numerous civic education programs and actively promoted government education at the high school level, and continues now at the collegiate level through the “We the People” program. She graduated from Hamilton Southeastern High School with Honors in May of 2005. During high school, Ashley was captain of the mock trial team, as well as Chief Justice of the YMCA Youth and Government Supreme Court.
As a member of Indiana University's Washington Leadership Program, Ashley plans to intern during the spring semester (2007) in Washington D.C. for either the White House or Senator Evan Bayh's office.
After graduation, Ashley plans to attend law school and possibly enter the political arena. Currently, she is enjoying life in Bloomington and is focused on savoring her time at Indiana University.
