Rebecca Nedostup is Assistant Professor of Chinese History at Purdue University. She received her Ph.D. from Columbia University in 2001. Her current research project, "Religion, Superstition and Governing Society in Nationalist China," is a social and cultural history of government campaigns against popular religious practice during the 1920s and 1930s.
