"Making Sense of Today's China: An Interdisciplinary Roundtable"

Rick Harbaugh

Ethan Michelson

Heidi Ross

This roundtable, moderated by Jeff Wasserstrom, will feature short commentaries by three China specialists in three different disciplines, all of whom are new to I.U. this year: sociologist Ethan Michelson, economist Rick Harbaugh, and specialist in comparative education Heidi Ross. Each presenter will discuss a Chinese phenomenon related to his or her main area of expertise, and then there will be an extended discussion period, so that there will be plenty of time for the presenters to respond to and ask questions of one another and members of the audience can weigh in on the topics that have been introduced.
