Rick Harbaugh is an Assistant Professor of Business Economics and Public Policy at the Kelley School of Business. He is the author of "Chinese Characters: A Genealogy and Dictionary".

 

About "Why are Chinese Characters so Hard"

This talk explores some simple ideas from economics and game theory that may help explain why some writing systems are "inefficiently" difficult. These ideas can be tested by examining the impact of Chinese character reforms.
