Summer Language & Culture Program

The East Asian Studies Center held two special two-week courses on the language and culture of China and Japan for interested IUB faculty and staff. Fun and interactive, there were no tests, no quizzes, and no pressure -- just an opportunity to learn more about the languages and cultures of these two important countries.

Chinese Culture and Language
Lifelong Learning Program

The East Asian Studies Center (EASC) sponsored a Chinese Culture and Language course offered through the Continuing Studies Lifelong Learning Program at Indiana University. The course met once a week for six (6) weeks in Fall 2005. Each class session was ninety (90) minutes long and included one week on each of the following topics: geography and regional differences; language; education; philosophy and religion; holidays and celebrations; and food. Lifelong Learning students are drawn from the Bloomington Community at large so the class included people of various ages and with diverse backgrounds and previous experience with China.
