Teaching East Asian Music in the Elementary Music Classroom Workshop
2006

Sponsors: East Asian Studies Center (EASC) at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, with funding from the Freeman Foundation.

Dates: June 11-14, 2006

Who: 20 Elementary General Music teachers (other qualified teachers may be accepted on a space-available basis)

What: Sessions in the musics of China, Korea and Japan by experts in each area as well as an experienced multicultural music educator; concert of music from East Asia.

Participants will receive: Free housing, instruction, resource materials (including books and CDs), concert admission, some meals; small stipend is available to participants who complete lesson plans; graduate credit is available at in-state tuition.

Participants are responsible for: $50 registration fee, transportation to and from Bloomington, Indiana, lunches and dinners; graduate credit fees if desired.
