  • Thematically and geographically organized (based on NCSS themes)

  • In order for students to successfully compete in a global society they must have a working knowledge of the culture, governments, geographic locations, and economic policies of Asia, and Asia's impact on Indiana

These lesson plans were produced by middle school teachers who attended the Summer 1996 workshop, "Teaching East Asia in Middle School", sponsorded by the Indiana Humanities Council and The East Asain Studies Center at Indiana University

This guide will be a valuable resource for teachers searching for lesson guides which emphasizes the important central issues related to Asia and organizes them in a systematic and easy-to-understand manner.
