Lesson Plans

Teaching about Asia Seminars
Included in this section of lesson plans are those submitted by participants in the Teaching about Asia Seminars, 10-week/30 hour seminars that introduce middle and high school teachers to the history and culture of East Asia. Each teacher is asked to write three lesson plans - one each on China, Korea, and Japan. All lesson plans must include background on the school/classes in which the lessons will be used and why specific teaching strategies were selected. Each lesson should also include a list of resources needed to teach the lesson. The teachers in our program represent a wide variety of schools, regions, disciplines, socioeconomic populations, and learning communities. The lessons themselves have not been heavily edited except to clarify unclear points and to update hyperlinks. We hope you find something of use here!
