Sidney Tarrow is the Maxwell Upson Professor of Government and Sociology at Cornell University. His areas of interest include comparative politics, social movements, political parties and collective action, and political sociology.

• Symposium: Transnational Democracy at the Crossroads? The EU’s Constitutional Crisis

This symposium will focus on the challenges globalization poses to both the legitimacy and efficacy of nation-state based democracy.
