Student awards The Peter Cannings Prize, in recognition of excellent achievement in French linguistics, was awarded to Kim Swanson for the 1999-2000 school year and to Jon Charles Hathorn for 2000-01. The John K. Hyde Award, in recognition of excellent achievement as an undergraduate student in French, was bestowed upon Christopher Lysack for 1999-2000 and Bradley A. Jones for 2000-01. Kasha Mastalerz and Christian Mitchell were the 1999-2000 recipients of the Albert and Agnes Kuersteiner Memorial Prize, in recognition of excellence in both spoken and written French. Diana Kogan, Emily C. Judy, and Laura Marie Hartman were recipients for 2000-01. The Grace P. Young Undergraduate Award, in recognition of superior performance in French literary studies, was bestowed upon Stephanie Muller for 1999-2000 and Emily Salmins and Susan Elaine Driver for 2000-01. The Grace P. Young Graduate Award went to Catherine Lerat and Dennis Rodgers in 1999-2000 and to Brian Crawford and Véronique Brau in 2000-01. Tamara Pollock won the Lander MacClintock Award for excellent achievement in Italian studies in 1999-2000, and Lisa Anne Klueppel won in 2000-01 for superior performance in French studies. In 1999-2000, Evan Rogister received the Mario Vangeli Undergraduate Award for outstanding achievement in Italian studies, and Holly Marie McGavock received it for 2000-01. The Mario Vangeli Graduate Award went to Andrea Ricci in 1999-2000 and to Angela Porcarelli in 2000-01. During the 1999-2000 school year, the Italian Honors Society welcomed the following inductees: Andrew Bradford, Megan C. Dougherty, Megan Evans, Erika Grunnet, Jennifer Holt, Evan Rogister, Emilie Sweet, and Andrew Ver Hage. In 2000-01, the Italian Honors Society inducted the following members: Samantha Ann Herbst, Oliver John Hildebrandt, Holly Marie McGravock, Dainise Meissner, Le Anh L. Nguyen, Joseph Pusateri, Andy Stamm, Nadia Traian, and Lucas Nelson White. Erika Grunnet, Holly McGavock, and Sue Friedrich received the Carol A. Hof stadter Memorial Scholarship in 2000-01.
