Oceanographic Concepts:

• The principal aims of this assignment are:
• to gain familiarization with key expressions and relationships.
• to examine the definitions of various units.
• to practise use of prefixes ad exponential notation.
• to recognize the relationships between different units via conversions
• to understand graphical representations of data sets.
• to detemine the basis for latitude and longitude.
• The exercise is accessible at the  oncourse website.

• Enter oncourse , and enter your username and password and click log in.
• There is a message about course announcements, click to continue.
• A welcome banner appears with the name and details of the of the course BL GEOL G131 2726, Oceans & Our Global Environment. The oncource toolbar should be displayed at the top of the page.
• Click on the tools button in the menu bar.
• The menu now provides options listed under two headings "Course Tools" and "University Links and Resources." 
• The "My Profile" link permits uploading of a photograph and personal information.
• Exercises are located within "Oncourse Tests and Surveys (Student)."
• Within "Oncourse Tests and Surveys (Student)" two icons appear:
• a clipboard with a pencil link: "Take Test or Survey"
• a clipboard with a magnifying glass link: "Review Test or Survey"
• These links provides lists of tests to take or to review, and the facility to scroll through the exercise.

• This exercise was issued on September 9th.
• 60 minutes is allotted to take the exercise.
• The exercise can be taken multiple times.
• Access to this exercise via oncourse will end at 12:05am on Tuesday, September 17th.
