OUTREACH OVERVIEW

The primary objective of outreach for the Center for the Study of Global Change is to serve as a resource base on international issues to meet the needs of K-12 teachers, post-secondary educators, business professionals, government officials, media representatives, and the general public at local, state, and national levels.  The Center encourages the dissemination of information and enhancement of relations between the US and other parts of the world, focusing particularly on global and inter-regional issues, problems, and solutions.  In support of its NRC mission, the Center funds workshops, speakers, library acquisitions, visiting scholars, conferences, technological innovation, curriculum development, and graduate fellowships.

Outreach projects geared specifically toward grades K-12 teachers and students include the International Studies Summer Institutes, International Studies for Indiana Schools, and Global Speakers Service.  In addition, the Center participates in a wide variety of local, state, regional, and national conferences and gatherings, each time bringing a global perspective to the content and activities (see General Outreach Activities).
