| Stephen L. Buchwald, who was a part of the Hieftje lab while still in high school and is now a professor of chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will receive the Siegfried Medal. The medal, recognizing his research in process chemistry, was awarded at the University of Zurich, Switzerland on September 21, 2007 during the Siegfried Symposium. |
| Mike Ramsey (doctorate, 1979), a professor of chemistry at UNC Chapel Hill, has been announced as the winner of the ACS Award in Chromatography. It will be presented at the ACS meeting in Chicago in March 2007. The award recognizes his work in micro and nanofluidics. |
