GradGrants Center Budget Lines for Grant Proposals

Salaries/Wages
List each person's name, position, % of time, salary base, period of effort
-- 40 hours per week, 2080 hours per year (e.g. one day a week 20%)
-- No overload; do not exceed 100% FTE
-- Do not try to collect more than salary base
-- Remember to increment

Fringe Benefits
Include Social Security, medical insurance, retirement, etc.

Equipment
-- Anything valued at over $500 with a 3-year life expectancy
-- List each item and identify by type or model number and supplier
-- Include delivery and installation charges

Travel
-- Transportation costs (airfare, car mileage, parking)
-- Per diem costs (meals and lodging); State Department lists rates for overseas
-- Local travel

Supplies
Itemize supplies in categories such as telephone, postage, copying, etc.

Other Costs
-- Maintenance or service agreements on equipment
-- Payments to human subjects
-- Subcontracts
-- Consultants (include per diem, transportation, and fee); federal government cannot exceed GS18 daily rate $373
