Get Oriented @ IU

The GPSO, University Graduate School and IU Libraries are proud to present "Get Oriented @ IU" New Graduate and Professional Student Orientation on Thursday, August 24 at the Wells Library from 2 pm - 4 pm. The only all-graduate program at IUB is designed to complement your department's orientation. This event provides new graduate and professional students with the practical tools and information needed to start a successful graduate education. Orientation provides a chance to meet and network with other new graduate students, as well as panel discussions.

Also, the Office of Academic Affairs is offering its 2006 Associate Instructors Workshop on campus climate. The workshop will be held from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22 and Wednesday, August 23 both in the Frangipani Room in the Indiana Memorial Union. (These are repeat sessions, so individuals attend only one.) Registration for both evenings will begin at 6:30 p.m. For more information, contact: Katie Kearns at kkearns@indiana.edu

Finally, we encourage new students to attend these activities as well:

Sunday afternoon, August 27, Serving from 2 pm - 4 pm GPSO Annual Cookout -- Bryan Park, North Shelter

Friday, September 1, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm University Graduate School Annual Wine & Cheese Reception -- Grand Hall, Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center

September 25 - 29 Graduate & Professional Student Survival Week -- this week-long series of events focuses on general issues of graduate student life, professional opportunities and wellness.
