It used to be that patients were given a green “visit form” by their provider to hand in to the cashier. However, that is no longer the case. Health Center providers are now able to enter charge information from within the patient’s electronic health record and this information transfers via an interface to the Health Center’s billing software. All the patient has to do is show up to the cashier and their charges will be there waiting on them. The Health Center expects this change to improve the check out process by eliminating the need for a cashier to manually enter charges; thus, improving both accuracy and wait times.
Students still must remember to check-out with the cashier upon leaving the Health Center. Failure to do so may result in an additional charge. |
