Many HPER students are planning medical careers, so they volunteer in hospitals or clinics, where they can put to good use the skills they learn in their HPER courses.

Undergraduate Students

Student Life

HPER's 1,700 undergraduate students are pursuing a broad range of majors from park administration to dietetics to sport management. Students enjoy close student-faculty interaction, an academic atmosphere that promotes excellence, and a practical orientation that provides opportunities for real-world experiences. As students in a school that promotes healthy lifestyles, HPER majors take advantage of IU's outstanding recreational sports activities, including intramural sports and state-of-the-art fitness facilities.

HPER International Club—HPER International fosters academic and social support for international students and facilitates contact among School of HPER students, faculty, and alumni.
