What are your plans for after graduate school?
I am still deciding about entering the workforce or pursuing a doctorate in public health.
What awards have you won?
I have been awarded a graduate assistantship, I teach first aid and CPR for the professional rescuer.
Do you volunteer? If so, where and how much time?
This semester has been more demanding, so my volunteering has lessened. Last
semester I served as a health advocate for the Shalom Center, I was
responsible for answering health related questions for their guests
and hosted information days where I presented information on specific
topics.
Favorite pastimes, hobbies, activities:
I spend a lot of time training for triathlons and various distance
running races. That has been a large part of my life for the
past few years. I love the health benefits that come with training
as well as the sense of accomplishment when I cross a finish line.
Why did you chose your specific area of study?
I chose public health because of the vast array of areas that I will be trained to work with. I like the versatility of my degree that will qualify for various areas when I decide to seek employment. I think the field of public health plays an important role in improving the lives others.
What do you think are some benefits of attending a diverse college campus?
I think the largest benefit is to learn about different people and cultures. This plays a very important role in our education. By learning about other cultures and beliefs, this allows us to expand our learning and understanding of the world that we live in.
