Strive in Diversity

The School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER) is excited to present our first edition of Strive in Diversity; a newsletter designed to share updates and information highlighting HPER’s commitment to increasing and supporting diversity within our school and our community.  Each issue will connect you to our diverse faculty, students and specific initiatives regarding the importance of diversity.

As you see, “strive” is literally in the word diversity.  This symbolic play on words will guide our efforts to strive for social justice, equality, and equity as core fundamental values of our academic environment.   HPER will continue to recognize and celebrate the knowledge and significance from many different cultures that are embedded in the population of this School and the University as a whole.

We at HPER realize we are but one piece of the University puzzle.  We are reaching out to you, our friends and colleagues to join us as Strive advocates.  We know you fully welcome the opportunity to inspire the desire to reach and teach a wide range of ethnicities, nationalities, and races.  Let’s strive together!
