The School of HPER offers camps, continuing education, and fitness opportunities for Bloomington and the surrounding communities through the Student Recreational Sports Center (SRSC) and HPER Building, Bradford Woods, Hilltop Garden and Nature Center, the Tennis Center, and the IU Outdoor Pool.
Indiana University Adapted Physical Education Program (IUAPE)
Provides children with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities individualized instruction that emphasizes physical fitness, gross motor, and fine motor skills. Individualized education programs are developed for each participant through on-going, informal assessment and consultation with parents/legal guardians, teachers, and therapists.
Bradford Woods
Bradford Woods, Indiana University's Outdoor Center, is located on 2,500 acres of land off State Road 67 between Martinsville and Mooresville, Indiana. The center is a leader in experiential learning and provides educational, recreational, and professional programs to a wide variety of organizations with members from all over the world, as well as to members of the IU and surrounding communities. Programs range from camps for children with disabilities to staff training and corporate retreats.

Sports
HPER’s Campus Recreational Sports offers memberships to the public
that provide access to both the Student Recreational Sports Center
(SRSC) and HPER Building facilities.
The SRSC, one of the country’s top recreational sports facilities, offers 204,000 square feet of sports and fitness facilities with five basketball/volleyball courts, six outdoor tennis courts, three multipurpose gyms, and nine racquetball/squash courts, including two championship glass courts, as well as an indoor elevated track for jogging and running, a cycle-fit studio, free weights area, and more than 400 pieces of exercise equipment. The SRSC’s Counsilman/Billingsley Aquatic Center features an eight-lane, Olympic-size pool and a diving center.

Participants can choose from two different membership options: a HPER membership, which includes access to facilities at the HPER, or an SRSC membership, which includes use of all facilities at both the SRSC and the HPER. Both memberships include access to Faculty/Staff/Public/Alumni Group Exercise sessions at the HPER building. See membership information, group exercise schedules, and outreach programs.
Hilltop Garden and Nature Center
Hilltop Garden and Nature Center is located on more than five acres of land west of the 45/46 Bypass and north of 10th Street. In addition to courses for IU students, Hilltop provides a noncredit education series with year-round classes and workshops in gardening, horticulture, and natural history, as well as annual consulting and professional training workshops. Other programming includes therapeutic horticulture programs for the elderly and disabled, home-school and preschool programs, and numerous volunteer opportunities. The facility features a nature center, educational areas, a greenhouse, and outdoor planting areas. The city of Bloomington’s Parks and Recreation offers People’s University continuing education classes through Hilltop. IU Tennis Center
The Tennis Center offers membership and classes to students, faculty, and residents of Bloomington and the surrounding communities. Members have access to eight air-conditioned tennis courts, club and sanctioned tournaments, fitness equipment, racquet stringing, a monthly newsletter, a tennis library, and private and group instruction by qualified tennis professionals. Membership information
IU Outdoor Pool
The IU Outdoor Pool offers membership and day passes for the general public, as well lifeguard training courses, pool rental for parties, children’s swimming classes, and Adult Training Group, a course designed for pool members over 18 who seek to improve their competitive swimming skills.
