What is involved in attaining an ESL/ENL teaching license through the TACIT program?

Over a period of five semesters, all participants who qualify for TACIT will complete the following coursework and professional development activities:

• Three to nine hours of graduate credit offered by the IUB Language Education Department delivered on-line through distance education
• Two workshops during the academic year at on-site locations near participants' schools
• Two summer workshops hosted by IUB and led by nationally-known speakers on such topics as:
• parental involvement
• integrated curriculum
• content area instruction using sheltered language methodology  
• Preparation of a Capstone Teaching Portfolio
