The Indian Student Association (ISA) at Indiana University in Bloomington, is a student-led organization, founded by Indian undergraduates of Indiana University, and led by an elected executive board consisting of sixteen chairpersons.
The association strives to bring awareness of Indian culture to both the campus and Bloomington community through some of the university’s biggest cultural programs, independently and in conjunction with other ethnic organizations, as well as sponsoring volunteer work in the Bloomington community.
In addition, the ISA assists international students in the transition to life on campus by directing their questions to the right office, answering questions to which they are capable of replying, and providing a familiar face to turn to during the transition period.
ISA is one of the largest cultural campus organizations and hosts many large cultural shows throughout the year including two large cultural programs celebrating Diwali and Holi, two Indian Holidays, where IU students perform for crowds of over 800 people.
It also hosts a widely attended intercollegiate conference called Masti which is attended by greater than 400 Indian students from more than 25 universities throughout the nation!
