The Kishor M. Kulkarni Arts and Humanities Prize on Modern India for
2003-2004 has been awarded to Shivani Manghnani of New York, NY. Ms.
Manghnani is a master’s student at Columbia University. Her winning
entry is a collection of short stories titled, “City Girls.” She will be
invited to come to the Bloomington campus in the fall to meet with India
Studies students and faculty and present an excerpt from her work.
The Kulkarni Prize competition is made possible by a donation from Dr.
Kishor and Josie Kulkarni of Carmel, Indiana, and is designed to foster
friendly relations between the United States and the Republic of India.
