Classic Films, Jagdish Bhagwati

The Fall 2004 India Studies Arts and Lecture Series will open on
September 22 with a Satyajit Ray Film Festival. The first film, “Abhijan
(The Expedition),” will be introduced by
Dr. Dilip Basu, Director of the Ray Film and Study Collection at UC-Santa
Cruz. Other Ray films to be screened later are: “The Chess Players,” “The Big
City,” and “Devi.” And in October, India Studies is bringing to campus
one of the world’s foremost economists working on international trade:
Jagdish Bhagwati.
