Through the years, Indiana University has maintained fruitful
relationships with a number of Hungarian academic institutions. Starting in the late
1970s, exchange programs were established to benefit the students and faculty of IU and
their Hungarian counterparts.
Below is information about exchange programs currently available to IU students and
faculty.
Indiana University and Kossuth Lajos University (now called the University of Debrecen) have enjoyed a close collaborative relationship since 1982. In addition to promoting "scientific cooperation" between the two academic institutions, an exchange program was established in the mid-1980's.
In the last decade alone, over thirty scholars, students and administrators from both institutions have participated in the program. In the exchange agreement, each university sends at least one participant to study at the partner school for an academic year. In the past, the majority of participants from University of Debrecen have been junior faculty members, while those from Indiana University have been graduate students.
Both institutions provide visiting scholars, students, or administrators with a monthly stipend to pay for food and lodging, tuition remission, and a small allowance for in-country travel.

other marginalized groups in Hungary.
The Goals of the MATCH program are to:
Although the formal agreement ended in 1999, the Kelley School of
Business has maintained a close relationship with BUES and the Hungarian business
community. In the last few years teams of IU accounting students have recieved summer

Hungarian-American Enterprise Fund.
IU business students will also have the opportunity to study in a three-week intensive
