Exhibition: "Blue at the Mizzen: Patrick O'Brian and the 19th Century Naval World" Main Gallery, June 2 - September 6
"Blue at the Mizzen: Patrick O'Brian and the 19th Century Naval World" features the work of novelist Patrick O'Brian, best-known for his series of Aubrey-Maturin books about the British Navy of the early 19th century. Lilly Library holdings include the manuscript drafts and research notes for most of these novels as well as other related O'Brian materials. The exhibition will also display historical books and manuscripts illustrating the naval world of the period.
Exhibition: "Ian Fleming"
A small exhibition in honor of the 100th birthday of Ian Fleming on May 28. On display are manuscripts, photographs, and books relating to the James Bond novels and films. Also on exhibit are books from Ian Fleming's renowned collection of books relating to milestones in the 19th- and 20th-century civilization.
