    My research is in the evolution of behavior, particularly communication and social behavior. I have pursued this interest through empirical studies of lizard communication and social behavior, and also through the development of computer and statistical tools for analyzing interspecific data along a phylogeny (the phylogenetic comparative method). Most recently, I've gone back to my academic roots to start a major project on the genetic and hormonal bases of behavior, using zebrafish.
