Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry is IU's newest academic department. Work by biochemists increasingly provide the basis of understanding of biological processes at a molecular level. This new department is housed in the newly constructed Simon Hall that is geographically located between Biology, Chemistry, Medical Sciences and Physics. This location actually mimics the scientific goals of this new department, which is to build scientific bridges between these various disciplines by stimulating interdisciplinary research between different fields. We are a vibrant growing department with a number of investigators that utilize numerous structural biology methodologies to address exciting questions in the life sciences.
