NMBCC Girl Empowerment Workshop

The Girl Empowerment Workshop is a new Outreach Program of NMBCC. The purpose of the workshop for girls ages 11-14, is to provide a day long interactive experience that enhances their sense of self and purpose by encouraging their intellectual and psychological development and providing them with tools and strategies to reach their full potential as healthy, self-confident girls—in a society that often promotes a shallow and demeaning ideal for girls and young women.

The participants came from the Bloomington and Indianapolis.
Below are some of the comments from their evaluations:

"It was good for me, and I learned a lot".
"I liked it when we talked about our goals".
"I enjoyed the dancing".
"It showed me a lot about myself and what I can do".
"Everyone was so easy to talk to".
