LODGING

 

A block of hotel rooms has been reserved in the newly-remodeled hotel in the Indiana Memorial Union at a special conference rate. The IMU is located on the 900 block of E. 7th Street in the center of the Indiana University campus and is the location of the meeting rooms for the conference. Hotel rooms are equipped with data ports and desks, color television, telephones, and private baths. Some rooms have small refrigerators. The IMU is central to many campus attractions and is a 5-minute walk to downtown. Parking is complimentary for guests staying in the IMU. The Union accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards.

Check-in time at the hotel is 4:00 p.m. and check-out time is 1:00 p.m.  Should you arrive before the 4:00 check-in time, you may leave your luggage with the front desk staff.

If you wish to reserve a room in the IMU, please make your reservations directly by calling the Reservation Office at 800.209.8145, 812.856.6381. Our block will be released for sale to the general public on March 13, 2005. You may also fax your reservation request to the IMU at (812.855.3426). Please identify yourself as a participant in the Pragmatics and Language Learning Conference. Rates for a single occupancy are $80.00/night + tax and rates for double occupancy are $100/night + tax.

If you wish to make lodging arrangements off campus, we suggest that you consult the Bloomington Visitors & Convention Bureau’s web site at: www.visitbloomington.com . There are less expensive accommodations available in Bloomington, although few are within a comfortable walking distance.

A number of additional facilities and services are housed within the Union building. They include a post office, copy center, beauty and barber shops, public computer clusters, automatic teller machines, and a large book and gift shop.

The IMU is served directly by the Bloomington Shuttle Service from the Indianapolis Airport.
