General ReferencesAggression Replacement Training: A Comprehensive Intervention for Aggressive Youth is a service provider’s guidebook that describes a three-part training approach to teach adolescents to understand and replace aggression and violent behavior with positive alternatives. The guide also provides information necessary to prepare and conduct aggression replacement training for high-risk or delinquent adolescents.
Anger Management for Youth: Stemming Aggression and Management for
Secondary Level Students (Treatment Manual) includes five modules
that teach students in 7-12th grade to critical skills for appropriately
expressing anger.
The Anger Control Kit: All the Information you Need to Help the Angry Child in School and at Home uses a variety of techniques to teach self-regulation, expression of feelings, stress management, and peer mediation skills. A video and a book are included in the kit.
The Anger Coping Program helps highly disruptive or aggressive adolescents develop skills in perspective taking, awareness of physiological arousal, social problem solving, and self-instruction. The program uses discussion, role-playing, video taping, and goal setting.
The Anger Management & De-Escalation Manual provides an overview of anger, as well as provides techniques that educators can use to manage anger and de-escalate volatile situations.
The Anger Workbook is geared towards high school students. The program uses a variety of checklists and questions to assist participants in being able to identify ways to handle anger. It also helps participants understand how their emotions feed their anger.
How I Learned to Control My Temper uses games, as well as coloring and writing activities to teach kindergarten and elementary school age children to recognize angry feelings and expressions, cope with angry feeling, control their temper, and empathize with other children.
The Think First Curriculum uses a variety of methods to teach middle school and high school students techniques for dealing with anger.
WorkshopsAnger Management & De-escalation training is a 1 day workshop that provides participants with techniques for managing anger and de-escalating volatile situations. It also provides training for teaching students to use anger management techniques. The workshop costs $95 per person and includes a copy of the Anger Management & De-Escalation Manual. Anger Management & De-escalation in-service is an abbreviated version of the Anger Management & De-escalation workshop. The 3 hour in-service provides participants with skills for recognizing the angry student and interrupting the anger process. The in-service is $55 per person for up to 42 participants.
