ASSESSMENT

The Greek Student Experience Survey
The Greek Student Experience Survey Originally developed in 1986 at the University of Minnesota. The survey measures factors influencing chapter and Greek community support of intellectual and leadership development, values integration, and positive relationships. It has been noted as the premiere assessment tool for the University President’s Call for Values Congruence (link to the following URL http://www.naspa.org/communities/kc/page.cfm?kcpageid=145&kcid=6) (Schendel, 2005).

This 300-plus item survey covers areas such as recruitment, chapter affairs, chapter house academics, chapter advising, alcohol, personal growth and development, personal involvement, and demographics.
CSCF offers the guide “How to Conduct the Greek Experience Survey on your Campus”, which guides the campus administrator through the process of administering the survey.

AFA/CSCF Fraternity and Sorority Advising Profession/Community Status Survey

The Association of Fraternity Advisors (AFA) and the Center for the Study of the College Fraternity (CSCF) have combined efforts to capture data about fraternity and sorority communities and the advising profession. This partnership will allow information about campus-based fraternity/sorority advising and information about trends within the fraternal movement to be combined in one report, offering new insights into the state of fraternities and sororities today and the effectiveness of the fraternity/sorority advising profession.
The Center has captured campus trends for the following years: 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1997, and 2000 into report form. These reports are available to Center members.
