Biography:
I studied math at the undergraduate level. Soon after that I completed a communications program called Social Communications Media at Sophia Polytechnic in Bombay, India. I then worked as an assistant director on a film set and later joined Newscorp’s Indian network STAR Plus, both in Bombay, India. I came to IU in 2001 and received a master’s degree in telecommunications. My master’s thesis examined the determinants of domestic market share in music markets around the world and the effect of piray on domestic markets. I am currently working on a study on the economics of the Indian film industry. I have set up and run the online group for the alumnae of the Social Communications Media program at Sophia Polytechnic.
