Graduate Handbook

August 15th, 2008

Dear Graduate Students,

Welcome!

My colleagues and I extend a warm and enthusiastic welcome to each one of you. We are in for another year of exciting changes and growth, and are very pleased that you will be a part of the process of making theatre at Indiana University.

The rich and varied resources of the Department of Theatre and Drama and Indiana University are ready and at your disposal. Our faculty and staff are committed to your intellectual and artistic growth. This commitment joined with your talents and dedication, will help guide you toward your personal goals as well as place you in the unique ranks of those who have gone before you - our graduates. Our alumni include some of the country's most distinguished scholars and artists. The artistic and scholarly reputation of both the Department and its graduates has enabled the IU Department of Theatre and Drama to be consistently ranked among the best in the nation.

This resource serves as an introduction to our department. Hopefully it will give you information and answer some of the questions you might have about your graduate training here.

I look forward to getting to know and working with each one of you.

Warmly,

Jonathan Michaelsen
