Study Theatre, See Theatre, Perform Theatre

Learn and Grow With Other Theatre Students

The heart of the Midsummer Theatre Program is the comprehensive study of theatre as an art form. Students will study with outstanding instructors of acting, movement, voice, dramatic literature, musical theatre, and television. Instructors range
from professionals in the field to young artists currently studying the theory and practice of the art of theatre at Indiana University. Some of our current students serve as residence hall counselors.

In addition to daily classes, students will attend several special event workshops in areas such as auditioning and television production. The days and evenings are full of exciting and challenging theatre classes and performance experiences. Students will also attend field trips, including the annual excursion to a performance at the Brown County Playhouse, enjoy a picnic, and have opportunities to meet professional artists and staff at Indiana University.

Share with Family and Friends

Students will showcase their learning experiences from these intensive two weeks in a Final Presentation on June 21, 2008. Families and friends are invited to attend the presentation and closing ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of the Midsummer students.

It's incomparable to anything I've experienced in theatre so far, and it's pushed me to put IU at the top of my college list!! Go Hoosiers!"
