By José Rivera
Directed by Sabrina Lloyd
Trapped in the tempestuous world of violence and anger that is New York City, a young woman turns to her guardian angel. The angel, however, remains ensnared by her own battles: An aging God is dying, and seemingly plans to take everyone with him. The result is a complete disintegration of reason and logic in the world. Often upsetting, but riotously funny, Rivera’s play speaks to the sense of disorder and disillusionment in contemporary society while driving home the vast importance of a single word: hope.
