K-12 Teacher Grants

K-12 teachers and  teacher educators are eligible to apply (must be US citizen or permanent resident).

 

TRAVEL GRANTS

Grants of up to $50/day to allow teachers to travel to one of the IU campuses for research or professional development (use library resources, attend a lecture or workshop, etc.). Additional funds are available to teachers who are willing to present their findings to other teachers (at a faculty meeting or professional development workshop). Please send a short description of proposed activity and a letter of support from principal or supervisor.

DEADLINE: Rolling deadline until funds are expended.
Grant funds will be dispersed upon completion of travel and receipt of a short report of activity. To be added to an email list advertising events at IUB, please email west@indiana.edu.


LESSON PLANS

Grants of $2000 each available for teachers who are interested in writing a new lesson plan or curricular unit dealing with a topic pertaining to Western Europe. The grants are intended to compensate teachers who take a course, travel, or conduct research to enhance their knowledge about Western Europe and prepare lesson plans accordingly. The lesson plans should meet state and national standards for a particular area and will be made available to the general public. Priority will be given to lesson plans that deal with contemporary (post-1989) issues and to teachers in the Midwest. Please include in application and send to our address:

  • Description of lesson plan topic, indicating which standards will be addressed
  • Intended activity to enhance knowledge
  • Two letters of support (from principal, chair, colleague, or professor)

Grant funds will be dispersed upon completion and receipt of lesson plans by the Center.
