Madeleine Peyroux: Half the Perfect World

This week on Afterglow we'll feature singer Madeleine Peyroux's new CD, Half the Perfect World. This followup to her 2004 hit Careless Love finds Peyroux casting the same warm, jazz-chanteuse spell with her vocals, this time on songs by Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, and co-written originals such as the poignant relationship retrospective "Once in a While." We'll also hear music from Chris Connor, Milt Jackson, Brad Mehldau, Kay Starr, and others. Afterglow airs Friday evening at 10:05 EST on May 11, 2007 on WFIU.
