IUWC Registration

To register for the Indiana University Writers' Conference, follow the link below to access the application. Print and mail the application, along with whatever supplemental materials apply. Please include a $50 nonrefundable application fee; we cannot process your application without it. This fee will be applied to your final bill.

You can also request an application by e-mailing writecon@indiana.edu or calling the IUWC office at (812) 855-1877.

Pay Online

If you would like to pay your tuition and/or registration fee by credit card, please click on the "Credit Card Payments" link to the left. The "Department Code" is "IUWC." The "Description" field is optional and equivalent to the memo section of a check. The "CVC Number" is the three digit code on the signature bar on the back of your credit card. All of your information is completely confidential and will not be saved.

If you intend to register on Sunday, June 8, please bring the completed application form with you, along with the full workshop or classes tuition, to the conference registration in the Hoosier Room in the Indiana Memorial Union between 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 8. If you want to enroll in a workshop, also bring at least 15 copies of your workshop manuscript (see "Manuscript Requirements" below). We also appreciate it if you call the IUWC office at (812) 855-1877 or e-mail writecon@indiana.edu and inform us of your intention to enroll, so that we may prepare for your arrival.

If you mail your application, please also include a self-addressed, stamped envelope if you want advance notification of acceptance in order to make travel arrangements. Final placement letters with the name of your workshop leader, conference registration materials, and bills will be mailed in May. All fees owed to the IUWC will be due upon receipt of the bill.

Please indicate on the application form if you are applying for a workshop or as a non-workshop conference participant, and the type of housing, if any, you wish to reserve. Applicants for workshops may indicate any preference for workshop leaders on the forms. We will try to accommodate any stated preference, based on the postmark of your application, but if we can't, we will place you in another workshop. Workshop applicants should also indicate whether they wish to obtain university credit. (Follow the link below for credit information.)

Please also indicate on your application whether you are applying for scholarship support.

If you are applying for a workshop, we highly reccommend that you apply early in order to better your chances of being admitted into the workshop of your choice.

Manuscript requirements:

If you are applying for a workshop, you must submit a manuscript along with your application. This will be the manuscript that will be workshopped at the conference. Prose workshop manuscripts should not exceed 25 double-spaced pages and poetry manuscripts should not exceed 10 pages. All manuscripts must have your name, the genre of the submission, and your contact information printed clearly on a title page. You should keep a copy of the manuscript you submit for workshop; the conference will not be responsible for lost manuscripts. Please bring 15 copies of the manuscript on Sunday, June 8.
