Welcome to the Nest!

As the home to one of Indiana's twelve to fifteen nesting pairs of Bald Eagles, Bradford Woods is proud to provide this educational opportunity. This project is designed to teach students in grades 5th - 8th about the Bald Eagles and other endangered or threatened species, but is a excellent resource for anyone interested in learning more about these things. Combining web-based activities done in the classroom with hands-on experiences outside the school walls, we hope the information provided on these pages in combination with outdoor activities and other classroom learning strengthen students' understanding of the complexities of our relationship with other animals that share our earth. After exploring this web site and collecting the requested data, students will be able to identify the physical adaptations of the Bald Eagles and describe the positive and negative effects that humans have on the Bald Eagle population in North America.

This program had been developed with funding by a grant from the Coca-Cola Foundation. Bradford Woods and Indiana university are grateful for Coca-Cola's generous support of the environmental education project.
