Hey everyone, AAA’s biggest event of the year, the Taste of Asia, is less than a month away! It is going to be held Friday, March 28th at the IU Auditorium. The event is free, so come enjoy the acts and food from basically all of Bloomington’s Asian restaurants! Next to all our student organization performances is a professional act, and our celebrity guest this year will be Paul Kim from American Idol. It’s going to be a great show with great food, all for free! So come check it out!
And two weeks after the Taste of Asia is the Asian Student Union’s annual pageant, Mr. and Mrs. Asia. It’s also a free event at the IU Auditorium, and the contestants have some great acts lined up for you, so be sure to check this out too.

Tonight was the callout meeting (sorry for not posting about it before!), and turnout was fantastic. After some introductions, we had a hectic (g-rated) icebreaker involving pantyhose and balloons. Pictures will be up soon.
Friday will be our first “Who are Asian Pacific Americans?” discussion, co-sponsored by and held at the Asian Culture Center from 1 to 2. This week’s topic is the Model Minority Myth (are Asians to be viewed as the model minority that has succeed in America’s meritocratic system?) WAAPA will be held every-other Friday; feel free to drop by for any discussion! Free lunch will be served to all participants.
Friday will be our first social of the year. Bowling/billiards at the IMU followed by an ice cream party (details will be made available during bowling). Show up at the IMU arcade at 7:30!

AAA had a great year with socials, the Fashion Show, the Taste of Asia cultural show, and discussions–but all good things eventually come to an end. Best of luck goes to the graduating AAA members Jing Liu, Amee Soni, and Rose Wongsarnpigoon.
For the rest of you, don’t think of the summer as an end, but a mere break in the festivities. AAA’ll be back with fun and food in the fall! Don’t miss our fall callout meeting (date/place to be determined).
