Program The name Fashion Show is a bit of a misnomer. Although it originated as a show focused on Asian-American attire, the Fashion Show is constantly evolving. This year's theme, Passport to Asian America, was threaded together by a skit detailing the trip of Stan and Sam through Asian America. Guided by an all-knowing, Willy Wonka-like travel agent, our protagonists brought the audience along as they observed first-hand the duality of Asian-American life.

The first performance was a hip hop dance. I'm good without you! declared the music as girls dragged their male dance partners around showed their independence with a dance battle.

Second was tinikling, the national dance of the Phillipines. 3 pairs of tiniklers danced in and out of 3 pairs of long sticks, as the sticks clicked-clacked in rythym with the traditional Filipino music.

Then a behind-the-scenes video was shown. The video initially posed the question, "Will they be ready in time?" and eventually answered "They are ready! Bring on the show!"

Next was the children of the world, a miniature Fashion Show showcasing local Asian-American children. Dressed in their families' respective culture's traditional attire, the children walked up to the front of the stage, twirled, and retreated behind the curtains.

After a short skit introduction, the Chinese yo-yo club performed. They showcased their individual and team skills before clearing the stage for a mock yo-yo duel between Pacman and Iron Monkey. Iron Monkey won.

The fusion dance was next. When hit on by Stan, the leader of the "SPA Women" flipped Stan onto his behind. Sam fled in terror, as the SPA Women were revealed to be Surprise! Powerful Asian Women! They then performed a fusion dance and continued injuring Stan until he ran away.

Breakdancing then took the stage. They smashed the long-held stereotype that Asians can't dance or be athletic into oblivion.

Finally, the multicultural walk showed off beautiful formal wear from all over Asia and America. The models walked to a live performance by musician I-shan Cheng of The moonlight repesents my heart, a famous Chinese ballad.
