African American Choral Ensemble auditions

Audition requirements

Vocalists should be able to sing one prepared piece of their choice with or without accompaniment. They should be ready to learn a group song during their audition that demonstrates their ability to sing harmony with others. They should also be prepared to participate in vocal exercises that will highlight their vocal range. Instrumentalists must contact Dr. Raymond Wise if interested in auditioning.

African American Dance Company auditions

Audition requirements

The audition will include a short warm-up followed by a dance combination given by the Professor Rosa. You do not need to prepare a dance routine. Dance specialties will be evaluated at the end of the auditions. No dance experience required to audition.

You must wear dance attire: leotards, tights, and bare feet. Men may wear sweatpants. No street wear, tight pants, or shorts.

IU Soul Revue auditions

Audition requirements

Vocalists will sing/perform one R&B, Soul, or Gospel song that best demonstrates your vocal abilities. You will also be asked to match pitches and harmonize.

Instrumentalist will play one R&B, Soul, or Gospel song that best demonstrates your instrumental abilities. Also, be prepared to improvise over and/or accompany a R&B/Soul music groove. Drums, keyboards, and amplifiers will be provided. Other instruments should be brought to the audition.
