African American Dance Company

Auditions will be held Tuesday, August 27th, 2013, 7pm

Class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30-6:30pm

Course Credit (2 credits)
A100 – Department of African American and African Diaspora Studies

Audition Details

  • Short warm-up followed by a dance combination given by the director.
  • Prepared dances are not necessary.
  • Dance specialties will be evaluated at the end of the auditions.
  • No dance experience necessary to audition.

Audition Dress

  • Dance attire.
  • Leotards, tights, jazz shoes or bare feet.
  • Men may wear sweatpants.
  • No street wear, tight pants, or shorts.

IU Soul Revue

Auditions will be held Thursday, August 29th, 2013, 7pm

Class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:35-5:35pm

Vocalists are required to attend a weekly coaching session, day and time arranged.

Audition Details

Vocalists

  • Prepare one piece that demonstrates your vocal abilities.
  • R&B, Soul, or Gospel style preferred.
  • You will be asked to match pitches and harmonize.

Instrumentalists

  • Be prepared to solo and accompany in a combo setting on R&B or Soul tunes
  • Drums and amplifiers will be provided; others instruments should be brought to the audition
