Spring Concerts

The African American Arts Institute produces individual ensemble concerts throughout the spring semester. You don’t want to miss any of these spectacular shows. First up is the African American Choral Ensemble which features a broad repertoire including spirituals, folk forms, traditional and contemporary gospel music, and formally composed works by African American composers. Next is the African American Dance Company Spring Concert. The company’s repertoire includes original choreography in a fusion of modern, jazz, African, and Latin American dance styles. 2014 marks their 40th Concert Celebration. It has been 40 years since the African American Dance Company took the stage for its first spring concert at the Indiana University Auditorium. It is time to celebrate! Last we have the IU Soul Revue. Enjoy the intense grooves, strong rhythms, and cohesive instrumentation. The Revue exhibits the timeless sounds of R&B, soul, funk, and contemporary urban black popular music.
